LINEAR EQUATION IN TWO VARIABLES (CLASS IX)

LINEAR EQUATION IN TWO VARIABLES

1. Check whether x=2 and y=1 is a solution of equation 2x+5y=9 or not ?

2. Draw the graph of y-2x=-3 and check if (2,3) is on the graph ?

3. Express x in the terms of y, given that 3x+4y=6. Check whether point (6,-3) is on the given line?

4. In an election 60% of voters cast their votes .Form this an equation and draw the graph with this data.

Read from the  graph  : (a) the total no of votes if 2100 voters cast their votes

                                              (b) the no of votes cast if the total no of voters are 10000.

5. The ratio of hydrogen and oxygen in water 2:1. Set up an equation between hydrogen and oxygen and draw its graph.    From  the graph read the hydrogen if oxygen is 6 gm.

6. Draw the graph of the equation x+2y-4=0. Find the coordinates of the point where the graph cuts y-axis.

 7. Draw the graph of the equation x=3. (a) in one variable (b) in two variables .

8. If the point (3,4) lie on the graph of the equation 3y=ax+7 , find the value of a.

9. Find the equation of the line passing through the point (2,3). How many such equations are  possible .

10. Find five solutions of the equations 2x+y=7. How many solutions can be found for the  equation  .
